About the Role:
As a Virtual Medical Assistant, you’ll be the first point of contact for our patients and providers, ensuring a seamless telehealth experience. This role requires exceptional attention to detail, excellent texting skills, and the ability to manage a high volume of patient text messages daily. You’ll be constantly toggling between the Birdeye texting platform and the Athena EMR system to coordinate care and maintain accurate records.
This position reports directly to the Head of Operations (currently Emily Kemmett).

Key Responsibilities:
– Greet and assist patients virtually, ensuring a positive experience
– Schedule appointments and manage patient reminders
– Collect and update patient information in Athena EMR
– Support providers with documentation and follow-up tasks
– Respond promptly to a high volume of patient inquiries via Birdeye texting, phone, and email
– Maintain meticulous records and ensure data accuracy across both Birdeye and Athena

Qualifications:
– Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or equivalent preferred
– Experience in telehealth or healthcare setting a plus
– Experience with Athena EMR preferred, but not required (training provided)
– Experience with patient communication platforms (Birdeye experience a plus)
– Excellent texting skills and written communication
– Proven ability to manage high-volume communication and multitask between platforms
– Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
– Ability to work remotely and manage time independently
– Availability to work at least some Saturdays is required; candidates unable to work Saturdays will be de-prioritized
